Practice counting and number value while getting a little messy!
You'll need:
Paper
Container
Red Paint
Sharpie
Directions:
If you want to put a little extra effort in, cut out tree shapes or apple shapes (or both, keep reading) from construction paper (or leftover cardboard boxes!). If you have a daycare, you can cut several pages at the same time by overlapping them when you cut. This saves a lot of time and makes cute things like this manageable. If you don't feel like cutting the shapes, you can use a regular piece of paper, no biggie.
For apple trees-
Number on your apple trees so they are like apples on a tree, spaced out, 1-5 or 1-10. Here you can have your child fingerprint that many "apples" around the number.
Or you can have apples (or circles) cut out with a corresponding number to what's on the tree. Here they match, maybe glue down, and can either finger print on top of each match, or just around the tree for decoration.
For apple cut outs-
Have each apply numbered, 1-5 or 1-10. Have your child finger print as many "apples" as the number specifies. After this, you could glue theses onto a paper or cardboard tree, or you could hole punch at the top and string them for a cute thing to hang.
Any of these options leaves you with a cute seasonal decoration for your classroom or fridge.
