Ever want to make play dough, but don't want to take the time to find a good recipe, get all the ingredients, and have to use the stove top (hello dishes)? This is a super easy recipe, that is not only easy to make, but so easy to clean up and clean off hands.
And all you need are two ingredients, that you probably already have.
You'll need:
Cornstarch
Dish soap
Bowl
Food Dye optional
Directions:
Pour cornstarch in bowl. Add food dye to soap if desired, and mix. Then add dish soap to cornstarch, stir then mix with hands, or just mix with hands. I am very lazy and will frequently use measuring cups to stir. Even less clean up ;)
Ratio above is about 3/4 cup cornstarch to 1/4 cup dish soap. You can use less dish soap and make this more crumbly, or more to make it softer. Too much will be sticky. The great thing about this, is you can just add a little more here and there and watch it change. This is an awesome way for kids to learn what happens with mixing ingredients- they can be totally in charge. Dawn gives it a nice pastel color, but we also added some teal to make it more vibrant. Then we attempted making this into oobleck by adding more water. I find dish soap oobleck is best when you mix the water and cornstarch first, then add soap. It still was fun but stickier than I like at first. Give it a day and it gets better (may need extra water added later on). Great outdoor mud kitchen play though!
