Exploring Red

Writer's picture: Elizabeth GrussElizabeth Gruss

When doing an apple theme, why not take a minute to explore the color red.

You'll need:

Containers or Paint Palette

Red Paint

Black Paint

White Paint

Paper

Paint Brushes

Directions:

Set up your child with containers filled with one paint color each. I recommend starting simple, maybe just two colors out at first. This can be done mixing any colors, but for Red, we will start with mixing with black and white. Again, it can be done with any colors, so feel free to switch up what you're experimenting with. Give your child a piece of paper (cardboard box broken down works too!) and a paint brush for each mixing combo. If they need some assistance, you could draw a venn diagram or something similar to help them see where to put colors so they can mix with out making a mess.
