Ice Block Animals

Writer's picture: Elizabeth GrussElizabeth Gruss

This is a fun way for your any age to cool off and be entertained for hours!

You'll need:

A tub

Ocean animal toys

Toy hammer

Food dye optional

Directions:

PIck a tub that is wide and can hold water (it gets heavy!). Put your animals in, and fill with water. You can add blue food dye to add to the theme. If you want to put some extra effort in, you can freeze in sections, so the animals can be placed more intentionally. For example, put a little water in and place any ocean floor toys (rocks, coral, etc). Then add a little more and some lower animals, repeating as you go. Once it's frozen, let your child try to free the animals. Get creative with what you have on hand to break the ice. As it melts, it will get easier, so this is a great activity for one of those too-hot days.
