Loose Part Letter Stamps

If you are trying to spice up painting time, this is a creative way for your child to learn their name and match shapes.

Various objects around the house

Paint

Directions:

Find items you can use to make letter shapes. For example, you can bend pipe cleaners to make curvy letters like S, C, and O. You can use popsicle sticks to make straight line letters like T, L, and M, and a mix of the two for the rest, like R, Q, and B. For younger children, you can write the letter on paper for them to match the shapes to. For older kids, you can write the letter(s) on a piece of paper to use as a prompt, where they can copy with out tracing. Or, they can just go ahead and do it all on their own. We love doing anything with our name, so try doing this with either the first letter of your child's name, or the whole name!
