Name Letter to Object Matching

This is a fun way for your child to not only learn how to spell their name, but practice learning letter sounds as well. Once you practice this with your child, they'll enjoy finding objects to match to letters on their own.

You'll need:

Various objects around the house

Letter cards (optional)

Directions:

Write out your child's name on cards or pieces of paper if desired. Making cards with letters on them is something you'll probably use over and over again, so a good investment time and energy wise. Sound out each letter, and begin finding objects that also start with that letter. So, apple for A, a stuffed animal bear for B, your cat for C. You may be able to take this outside depending on where you live. Once you get your child going, you can make up other words for them to find, or perhaps try the whole alphabet! To make this more independent, you can line up the letter cards, and have them search the house on their own, getting you when they have gone through all the letters.
