Ocean Researcher Role Play

Writer's picture: Elizabeth GrussElizabeth Gruss

Become an Ocean Researcher! It is extremely rare I would post a project or activity involving a screen. However, for this I think it's worth it. My own child and I will sometimes do "research" this way. He really enjoys it, and not only does it teach him words, and about animals, it also does set up future school skills.

Directions:

Ask your child to think of at least one ocean animal they would like to know more about. Have them think of questions they'd like to answer, and write them down, with space to record answers. Leave a spot for other things you learn. In the Ocean Binder Bundle, we have a page with pre-set questions. If you have any books about this animal, feel free to read together. If you have any toys of this animal, feel free to go grab them. Take out your phone and let your child type the name of the animal into the search bar. Help them find the letters. Scroll through to find videos to watch and articles to read. Feel free to google specific questions if need be. Your child will love to do this, not just because they get to use your phone and may get to watch a short video, but because it can really bring them to the animal world at home. They will enjoy learning about their animal and sharing the information as well!
