Writer's picture: Elizabeth GrussElizabeth Gruss

This project is a great way to for children to quantify numbers and practice writing them.

You'll need:

Scale

Ocean Themed Toys

Paper

Pen

Directions:

Pick a few ocean themed toys, such as stuffed animals, shells, or even rocks. Create and order, and make a chart on your paper to fill. Take turns weighing each item and show your child how to read the scale. Let them practice writing the number down. When you're done, discuss the weight comparisons. What weighed the most? The least? Can you put them in order? Once you have dont a few with your child, they can do this with other items on their own!
