Toilet Paper Roll Stamp- Apple Tree

Toilet Paper Roll Stamps are so much fun. You don't need to buy a million stamps, you can easily make your own several different ways. We've used toilet paper roll stamps to make bumblebees, flowers, fish, the list goes on. Here's an activity to use toilet paper rolls to create apples. Bonus- this easily becomes a counting or sorting activity.

You'll need:

Paint

Paper

Toilet Paper Roll

Container for paint

Directions:

Fill up your container with red paint (obviously you can do a different color- while imagination is what we strive for (ie your child wants purple apples) sometimes it's more than fine to do realistic situations. This teaches younger children what red is, and they can think an apple is red (obviously all aren't but as a society we label them generally as red) which categorizes and sorts in their mind. You also can write the word Red next to their paint and say Rrr Rrr Red.) You can pre-draw a tree for them to create apples on, use green paper, or just leave it blank. You can let them stamp apples on as much as they'd like, or you can write numbers or place stickers in certain spots for them to match. You also can create number pages, where you write the number on the page and they have to make that many apples on the tree. Lots of ways to do this project! If you only have full rolls of toilet paper- you can cut a paper towel roll into a few pieces or they can use their thumbs for apple finger painting. I always keep paper towel rolls because there are just too many ways to use them.
